C'mon, somebody, post something!

Or I will be forced to take over as I have been known to do! Forgot to say that it is once again Amy.

News of the Tofts--this will be the Peter Toft chapter.

Peter and Andrew just got back from a trip to the Wallawa Mountains in Oregon. They hiked every day with Peter's cousin, Warren Youker. I think Peter said they hiked 37 miles in 3 days--usually 11 or 12 miles a day.

So he loves hiking. Also skiing--teaches at Pomerelle, the family ski area near us. He loves golf too. And TV. And me!

Peter works at US Bank in Trust. He is good at it.  Old ladies really love him.

Peter hasn't joined our Church yet, but I know he will someday, even if I have to wait for him to die first! Kidding! Sort of!

Cooking! and wearing fake tattoo sleeves
He is a great cook, but doesn't bake.

In Wyoming near the Tetons, which I did not seem to get in the picture

And here is a great family picture of all of us!

OK, Let's make this husband week! Post about your husband if you dare. Sorry, Pam, I can't help bossing !

Love to everyone from Amy Toft

And saturday I will get to see Shirla, Bryan, and Uncle Marvin. There will be a report!

It's Amy!

Ha I am in!  Hmm, now what? Is this just about Hein family stuff or my family?  Well, I liked seeing the pictures very much. And thank you Aunt Jackie for the recent family history from Grandma Hein. She did not have an easy life, that's for sure. Did everyone else laugh when Grandma said to her sister, "I feel like I should give you my baby." (It was Uncle Lee--I'm glad she didn't!)  Because her sister, I think Maren, had come to help Grandma shortly after Maren's own baby died. That's not the funny part yet. Then Aunt Wilma, who I'm guessing was about 4, said "Mother, then you would feel the same as Aunt Maren." Can't you just hear Aunt Wilma saying that? That's when I laughed. OK, maybe that's only funny to me!

It's the first day of school here, which feels like New Year's Day to me. I miss Mary, who is a senior, but I am getting a lot done being home alone.

Someone tell me if this is only Hein stuff, or if it is for all my news. I will try not to take over and boss everyone, like I did when we did those programs at the reunions when we were little.

I know, let's take every Primary song about mom and dad, stick the words grandma and grandpa in it, and spend a lot of time practicing it with me telling everyone what to do, then make everyone watch us perform! Doesn't that sound great? Let's do it every year!

Then we can hang around and watch Shirla--the coolest girl ever do her hair and makeup! She always had a date! We can gaze at Ron and Don from afar in awe. They are so cool! And cute!

Then we can get mad at Natalie because Andy always makes her giggle. Andy was the funniest boy ever!

Then we can eat Hawaiian haystacks and watch my mom's barbershop group sing in their red and white striped jackets and beehive hair!

Then Aunt Jackie can throw away Kerri's blanket because it looks like a rag, and there can be a big hunt for it at bedtime. Then Kerri's mean big sister can whisper to poor Kerri that her blanket smells like garbage all night long.

Somebody stop me!  What do you remember, and tell me about the reunion that I just missed.

Love, Amy

Not sure what I am doing

But at least I am into the blog!  Yay!  Thanks, Pam.

Howard and I are so happy that we could see so many of you at the Hein Reunion.  It was just such fun to be together.  And thank you all for letting the "older generation" just be there and all of you taking such good care of us.  It was wonderful!

Our ward, along with all wards in the town of Casper, has had ward boundaries realigned.  There was a new 8th Ward created and that affected everybody.  Today was the last day our ward was status quo.  Next week we meet and get new bishops.  The following week is Stake Conference.  So it will be the 26th of September before we actually meet as the "new and improved" 6th Ward.  We are so excited and just seem to thrive on this kind of growth.

Howard is Sunday School president and with the new boundaries, he lost both counselors and all his Sunday School teachers.  Hmmm.  We wonder if he will even be the Sunday School teacher when all the shaking comes down.  Guess we will wait and see.

So that is about it with us!  Love to hear the news from everyone.

Love,  Aunt Margaret

Update from Pauline

Wednesday, September 1, 2010, 10:07 AM

Hi family.  We had the best rain storm the other day.  It cooled us off a lot and now it is very pleasant. The children are all back in school now.  And Meshia has till the end of the year to finish up with beauty school.  So she will be licensed to do hair on both men and women.  Hope she will be able to find a good position.  As jobs are hard to come by in this time of a broken economy.

Valery will be getting married soon, she has planned for October1st.  Hope all goes well for her.

I tried out a yoga class last week and it was so hard for me, most of the class were in their twenties.  So I thought I would try the deep water class which works a lot of the big muscles.  I liked that one a lot better and I don't end up hurting my back.  I still do the water aerobics in the shallow end as well.  I have been doing this for a long time now and I don't lose the pounds that I want.  But I always feel better after doing them.

Bob has gone to the temple today to work in the baptistry, he enjoys the work and does it every Wednesday.  I help out in the youth center on Tuesdays helping the chidren get ready to be sealed to their mom and dad.  Besides that we are back serving the college age students that attend the LDS institute of religion.  We make sandwiches and other food for them.  That little job will be over by Christmas, then we don't know what we will be doing after that.  We hope you are all well and enjoying whatever you are up to in your lives at this time.  We send you our love from Pauline and Bob

Ancestry.com Labor Day Week-end

Wilma Wichert called me today to let me know that she had watched a show about Ellis Island on TV last night and that at the end of the show they announced that www.ancestry.com would allow people to use their site for free for the week-end to search for immigration records.  I am sure I will have some I will want to look up, perhaps you may too.  Thanks for the tip, Aunt Wilma!  Pam Anderson
