Elisha Hein becomes Elisha Davidson

Ok, I'm going to try again. Elisha Hein married Drew Davidson on January 27, 2011 at the Old Meeting House in Salt Lake. The festivities turned out rather nice and I think she was pleased with the outcome - of course, the most important part.

This is one of my favorite pictures of the day. Our son, Riley is in the foreground with Drew in the light blue shirt and his best man, Elton in the mirror reflection of the groom's room. While we were running around going crazy, the men are watching Aladdin. Yea, you read that right.

Another candid shot of the bridesmaids getting ready to walk the plank, I mean down the aisle. Funny thing about their dresses. Elisha didn't want the bridesmaids to have matching dresses, but she did want them to have a similar color. So everyone shopped for their own dress and when we got them together realized that they were all pretty much the same shade of grey.
This is a picture of our Amanda, looking all sassy in her grey dress and red shoes. Her cousins, Lyndsay and Courtney did her hair. She really looked cute.

This is a picture of the flower arrangement at the buffet table. It's really cool with the pheasant feathers. When we met with the florist, Elisha told her that she wanted her bouquet to have feathers in it. The florist almost jumped out of her chair - well she did jump out of her chair and ran out of the room. We wondered what whe said to offend her, but she came back quickly and told us this story. A lady that she works with in her other job, loves to go bird hunting. Debbie asked her to bring her back some feathers next time she went hunting. About two weeks before we met with her, the lady brought in this bag of feathers. She didn't know what she was going to do with them - until we walked into her door. All of the flowers were beautiful. Elisha's main colors were peach and deep red. All the bouquets, table arrangements, coursages and boutenires (sp) had a little feather in them. SO cool and unique.

As soon as we get the pictures back from the photographer, I'll post some pictures of ELisha's dress and the actual wedding stuff. It was a lot of fun, a lot of work and we truly felt Marv and Shirley with us that day.

Weirdness

Hi Again:
It's Marian Hein, wife of Ron Hein. So I was feeling sorry for Amy when she complained in her Facebook post that she was the only one posting to this blog. SOOO, I gathered up some pictures of our Elisha's wedding and posted.  NOW, it's not here.

I'm too tired to try to reconstruct it. Suffice it to say, that it is coming.
Extra weirdness, the post isn't there, but the pictures I uploaded are in the blog file. YIKES!

One week later and I am still the only poster!

Do I even need to say, it's Amy?

Today's post will be about Mary. After that I am out of kids but don't worry, I will still have plenty to say!

Mary is 18 and our youngest. She will graduate from Twin Falls High School in May. Mary is the student body vice president and really enjoys all the leadership things she gets to do. She is in a bunch of school clubs-- club, key club, NHS, um, maybe more?

Mary is also on the drum corps, even though she has not had a single drum lesson. I enjoy watching them play and Mary's happy "I am drumming!" face.

She plays school soccer in the fall and tennis in the spring. She played basketball for two years, but seems to prefer less intensity--likes playing JV! She does not have the cutthroat playing that Rachel used to. Mary's philosophy might be, "You want the ball that much? Take it!" Rachel used to steal the ball from her own team mates, convinced she was better and deserved the ball.

Mary is not so lackadaisical about dance however. She LOVES dance.  Having trouble finding a dance picture. Something happened to the Mary picture file and I can't make facebook give one up. What's with that? I hope she will continue to dance in college. I also hope she will choose BYU-I.

Mary loves art too. She is really creative. This is the Christmas tree she made when she got sick of us not getting around to cutting one.

We like to go to Target and take pictures of funny stuff.
We did not buy the giant cheese balls or this hot dog costume.
But Mary was Penelope for Halloween. Hope you have seen the movie!
 Snow people lanterns!
Who knew brussel sprouts came like this?

Cheerleader for a day.

Nerd day. Dressing up for school spirit days  is an important part of student council!

Mary also loves yoga but I don't have a picture of that.

We love Mary, we will miss her when she goes to college, she is a ton of fun!

Ok then!

It's Amy AGAIN!             Rachel modeling a hat I knitted. It was very hard.

I wouldn't dominate if you guys would post too. Just saying!

So, working my way through my kids, it is time for a post about Rachel. Rachel  is her middle name. Her first name is Helen after Peter's mom.

Rach lives at home with us and is a waitress and ski instructor. She works at an Italian restaurant called Tomato's. She is 20.

She has always been a great reader and is our Harry Potter expert.  Many times we have asked her stuff like, "What's a veela again?" She always knows. And also know which stuff happened in which book. In my mind they are all a jumbled blur.

Mary and Rachel at a Harry Potter movie opening night. What, you guys don't dress up for new movies? We always dress up for Pirates of the Caribbean too.

Rach is a good sewer. This is a costume she made to be the mean queen in Enchanted for a dance recital a few years back.
Here's Rachel's new/old bike. A cruiser! She found it at a thrift store for $10.
Our kids this year at Christmas. Was planning to send this out in New Year's cards, but still haven't done it. Not that thrilled with the picture.  We only had one day when everyone was in the same place and it was getting dark. Good of Mary and Rachel, but Andrew's hair! And Elisabeth refused to take off her sunglasses. So has the look of possibly being sight-impaired. Also it is now February. A little late for Happy New Year cards.
This is not where Rachel teaches--Pomerelle. It is Big Sky a few years ago. Clearly I need to take more skiing pictures.

Rachel is my best helper when I need things done. She is a good cleaner, a good writer and also funny. We like to hear stories of the funny things that happen at work. We love Rach, she adds spice to our lives!
